National Treasure is a video work which examines the construction of performance and national identities in relationship to each other. In National Treasure, Febbraro superimposes herself tap dancing over top of stereotypical “Canadian” landscapes. Equating fame, stardom and “making it' with the United States and failing or “not being noticed” with Canada, Febbraro humourously exposes how nationalism functions within our own personal notions of identity.
